Setting- Everyone has fallen asleep at Setsuna's, except for Ryou, who stormed off… but as they all sleep, the connections to their past surface in their dreams…

***NOTE- "Waset" is the Egyptian name for the city now called Thebes.

<Ryou> *slams his front door shut, stomping up to his room, slamming that door shut as well* *throws himself onto his bed, burying his face in a pillow* Rrrrggghhh!! *punches a pillow by his head* That damn bastard lied to me!! *breaths heavily for a moment before calming down slightly* *sighs deeply* I told him I remembered a woman from my past... someone I loved... he said he'd give me the love I wanted... but then all he did was take over my mind and he used me!! He never showed me the way to finding her!! All he did was use me... he tricked me!! *throws a pillow across the room* *the pillow causes a lamp to fall to the floor and break* *sigh* *grumbles* I'll never find out about my past... I'm just going to wander the darkness forever... *closes eyes* I wish I knew more...
*Ryou slowly falls asleep as he contemplates all of this, his dreams bringing him far away to a place and time long gone*
<Ryou> *looks around* *somehow knows where he is and what he's doing* *walks out of the mouth of a cave, looking at a rising sun* A new morning. *takes in a deep breath* Another raid.
<Raider> Sir, we're all ready to go.
<Ryou> Let's move out then. *goes and mounts his horse, riding hard with a band of thieves trailing behind him* *after a few hours, they see a caravan on the horizon, making its way towards Waset*
<Ryou> *raises his sword in the air* Men, attack that convoy!! I want every man, woman, and child dead before sundown!!
<Men> *all shout their approval and bear down on the convoy as they approach it*
<Ryou> *is in the thick of the fight the whole time, until all the blood has been shed, and the only people walking are his raiders* Good job, men! Load up the packs! *walks amongst the destruction, and picks up the sound of a woman faintly sobbing from behind a cart* *creeps over, drawing out his dagger to finish her off, but as he lifts the blanket she is hidden under, and pulls her out, all he can do is stare into her fear-filled eyes* *suddenly jerks awake, sweat sticking to his skin and his breathing heavy* What the? Kibira? *runs his hands through his hair, trying to clear his mind* What was that...?
*meanwhile*
<Ari> *has fallen asleep in an extra room at Setsuna's house after chasing Marik up the stairs, trying to comfort him* *Is thinking about Ryou and everything that'd happened, and ends up dreaming about Kibira's past*
<Kibira> *hugs her friend* We won't be gone for long, I promise.
<Liana> Be careful...
<Kibira> *smiles, and runs to catch up with her family, her parents leaving for another merchanting trip*
*a young man helps her into a carriage and the caravan goes on their way*
*the caravan travels for a few days, the time going by quickly in Kibira's dream*
<Kibira> *has fallen asleep, and is resting in one of the carriages being held up by servants* *distant sounds of shouting and horses hoofs beating the earth wake her up* *looks out of the carriage and sees raiders approaching, their swords drawn* *screams, jumping out of the carriage despite shouts from her servants, running to find her family before the raiders hit the caravan, but she doesn't run fast enough* *she watches, horrified as her brother is killed, and then is pushed into a cart by a servant* *she waits for what seems like forever until the noise dies down, crying and sobbing quietly* *suddenly, the blanket she was hidden under is torn from atop her, and a white-haired man drags her out into the open, a dagger pressed to her throat... but he doesn't hurt her, instead looking into her eyes in wonder* *wakes up abruptly, her mind taking over because of the dream* Ryou? In my dream again... *looks around, realizing that she'd fallen asleep in Setsuna's home with Marik* I know I'm connected to him... but... *stays silent for a while, looking at Marik*
<Marik> *stirs a little as Kibira strokes his hair softly*
<Kibira> I can't leave him now... whatever this connection with Ryou is, it's going to have to wait.
*meanwhile*
<Setsuna> *lays awake for a few minutes before falling asleep in Seto's arms, thinking about the life Liana might've had, dreaming of the past*
<Liana> *is looking out at the horizon* The caravan should've returned by now... *spots a lone rider in the distance, and starts when he falls off his horse* Oh no... *runs as fast as she can to reach the man* Are you all right? *notices his belly is pierced, and that its a miracle he isn't already dead*
<Man> *is breathing hard* The demons... they... they attacked... everyone was killed... *takes a final breath before finally passing on to the afterlife*
<Liana> *looks blankly at the man, recognizing him from her parent's caravan* It... It couldn't be... *remembers that each member of a caravan has a special charm to identify them* All I have to do is find it... he... he can't be from my family's caravan... *with shaky hands, sifts through the man's pockets, finding a small charm and pulling it out* *screams when she sees it, recognizing it as her family's charm, and now knows that her whole family is dead* *the day goes by as a blur, the dream taking her later to an oasis by a stream, sitting with her knees to her chest, sobbing* *hears someone coming through the grass around the oasis, and calls out, finally seeing a man with a dark cloak come up, his red hair and violet eyes glinting in the pale moon glow* *suddenly wakes, recognizing the face in her dream* Seth?
*meanwhile*
<Seto> *is also dreaming of past time, finding himself as Seth*
<Seth> *wakes up in an Egyptian home, early in the morning* Liana, I'm sorry I couldn't stay to comfort you, but I'll be back... *takes a piece of papyrus and writes a note for her, leaving and thinking back to when he met her in the oasis, and learning of her family's death* *climbs into his palace room from a tree, trying to be silent, knowing that if his father hears him return, he'll be punished, and punished harshly* *freezes when the candles in his room come to life, knowing his father will be standing right there*
<Akunadin> You are not allowed to leave the palace, Seth!
<Seth> *kneels in front of his father, apologizing through gritted teeth*
<Akunadin> *glares down at his son* Forty lashings! And no food until you're done with the studies you missed when you snuck out!
<Seth> But father!
<Akunadin> Not another word! You'll receive five additional lashings for every failed attempt at your studies!
<Seth> *fights as hard as he can, but in the end is dragged off by two guards, and beaten within an inch of his life* *wakes up quickly, sweat pouring from his forehead* Liana... and... my father...
<Liana> *is up as well* Seth...
<Seth> *looks at her* You were dreaming too?
<Liana> I think we all might've....
<Seth and Liana> *decide to go downstairs and try to figure this out, but when they get downstairs, Kibira is sitting in a chair in the living room alone*
<Liana> Kibira? Where's Marik?
<Kibira> *starts* *turns around* Oh! Uhm, he's still sleeping upstairs... I, uh, woke up.
<Liana> I see... uhm, did you happen to have any odd dream while you were asleep... because Seth and I both had very strange dreams about what we think was our past.
<Kibira> Past? *gulps, hoping that what she dreamt wasn't a part of her past life* Uhm... n-no... I didn't have any odd dream...
<Seth> Hmmm... well, it must have just been our connection with each other that was causing it, Liana.
<Liana> Yeah...
<Kibira> Uhm... well, I'm going to go home now. Tell Marik he can stop by my house if he wants to...
<Seth> Okay, will do!!
<Liana> Bye!
<Kibira> Bye!! *goes out the front door and closes it behind her* *thinks: I wonder what that dream meant then... was it really a glimpse into my past?*
